Create Zoom meetings for bookings
Connect Zoom so each booking gets its own meeting and join link, and learn how to remove the connection.
Connect your Zoom account to CB Booking and every booking for a Zoom service gets its own scheduled Zoom meeting. The join link goes into the customer's confirmation email. Rescheduling a booking moves the meeting, and cancelling it deletes the meeting.
The app only creates, updates and deletes the meetings it created for bookings. It does not read your other meetings, recordings, chats or contacts.
Add the app
You need CB Booking installed on your Shopify store and a Zoom account that can schedule meetings.
- Install CB Booking on your Shopify store if you haven't already. See cleverbooster.com/apps/booking.
- In Shopify admin, open Apps → CB Booking → Settings → Integrations.
- Under Calendar & Video Conferencing, click Connect beside Zoom. A Zoom window opens.
- Sign in to Zoom if asked, review the requested permissions, then click Allow.
- The window closes and the Zoom row shows Connected.
- Click Test Meeting. A green banner with a join URL confirms the connection works.
Zoom asks for these permissions:
| Permission | Why the app needs it |
|---|---|
| Create meetings | Create one meeting for each new booking, and one meeting when you click Test Meeting |
| Update meetings | Move a booking's meeting when the booking is rescheduled |
| Delete meetings | Delete a booking's meeting when the booking is cancelled |
| Read your user ID | Recognize your account if you remove the app from Zoom, so the app can delete your connection |
Troubleshooting
- Nothing happens when you click Connect: your browser blocked the pop-up. Allow pop-ups for
admin.shopify.com, then click Connect again. - "Invalid or expired connection request": the connection window was open for more than 10 minutes, or it was opened from a link instead of the Connect button. Close it and click Connect in Settings again.
- "Could not read your Zoom account": Zoom didn't return your account details. Close the window and click Connect again. If it keeps failing, check that your Zoom account is active and allowed to install apps (on company accounts, an admin may need to approve the app).
- A yellow banner says Zoom needs to be reconnected: Zoom refused the stored authorization, for example because the app was removed in Zoom or its permissions changed. Click Connect and authorize again. Bookings made while disconnected don't get a meeting.
- The row still says Not connected after you allowed access: wait a few seconds, or reload the Integrations page.
Use the app
- Open a service under Events, then go to Location & Payment.
- Under Virtual or physical location, choose Zoom and save.
- Make sure your confirmation email template contains the
{{meeting_link}}placeholder. See Set up and customize booking emails.
From then on:
- New booking: the app creates a scheduled Zoom meeting at the booking's time and length. The meeting topic is the service name. The agenda holds the customer's name, email, phone and booking notes. The join link appears on the booking's detail page and in the confirmation email.
- Rescheduled booking: the meeting moves to the new start time and length.
- Cancelled booking: the meeting is deleted from your Zoom account.
You host each meeting from your own Zoom account, and the meetings appear in your Zoom meeting list.
Remove the app
You can remove the connection from either side:
- In CB Booking: open Settings → Integrations and click Disconnect beside Zoom. The app revokes its access at Zoom and deletes the stored tokens.
- In Zoom: sign in at marketplace.zoom.us (opens in a new tab), open Manage → Added Apps, and remove CB Booking. Zoom notifies the app, which deletes the stored tokens for every store connected to that Zoom account.
After you remove it:
- New bookings no longer get Zoom meetings. Change the location of your Zoom services, or customers won't receive a join link.
- Meetings already created stay in your Zoom account, and the app no longer changes or deletes them when bookings are rescheduled or cancelled.
- If you uninstall CB Booking from Shopify, all of your store's data in the app is deleted about 48 hours later, including stored Zoom tokens and the meeting IDs and join links saved on bookings.
